Background and Introduction
AMPCOR was founded in 1995. The company founder and owner, Dirk Prochassek, recognized the opportunity to provide the electricity utility sector with dynamic consulting and contracting expertise to meet the emerging outsourcing requirements of these formal utilities.
In 2003, Ajay Morar bought into the company, increasing the skills base in terms of being a Professionally Registered Electrical Engineer and having vast knowledge and experience pertaining to the design and implementation of electrical reticulation and electrification projects.
A diversity of skills and disciplines are synergistically combined to offer a broad range of services that cover the full spectrum of clients’ needs, from the largest electrical utilities in the country to the commercial/industrial and residential sectors.
This ranges from providing advisory design expertise, project management, contracting solutions to managing full turnkey projects.
Stringent installation standards, with an emphasis on controlling budgets and adherence to project deadlines ensure the successful completion of work undertaken.

AMPCOR co-ordinates a fluid and dynamic network of key associates uniquely geared to provide integrated consulting and contracting solutions. The AMPCOR structure is streamlined, ensuring maximum accountability and personal ownership.
Following a policy of immersion, each key team member is totally involved in all design and construction processes, ensuring that the finished result emanating from AMPCOR benefits from cohesive management direction, which ensures a cost effective and timeous quality installation.
This allows AMPCOR the flexibility to handle multi-faceted tasks from the smallest to the largest projects, with our skilled management directing a workforce tailored to suit the task.
AMPCOR offers a fully comprehensive, integrated approach to clients’ requirements, by providing essential reporting information and overall project management control.
Safety is of the utmost importance. We have a policy that Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) is not negotiable. Management and staff are not only responsible for their own safety but the safety of their fellow colleagues as well. A risk assessment is performed before the commencement of each project. Employees are issued with protective personal equipment and regular safety meetings and “toolbox” talks are held to discuss safety issues and concerns in order to reduce the risk of injury/loss.

Contracting Services in Electrical Engineering
Includes Specialised Services
Electrical Infrastructure
Construction/Refurbishment of Electrical Substations from 11 kV to 132kV comprising Primary Plant, Power Transformers as well as Secondary Plant.
Revenue Protection
Provision of services to Electricity Service Providers for the effective management and disconnection of electrical services to delinquent consumers with large arrears.
Professional Services
This includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of OHL Lines up to 275kV and Solar Plant Substations.

Freeway Lighting Maintenance
National Route R21 Section 1 & 2, National Route N3 Section 1 2, National Route N 1 2 Section 1 8 & 1 9 and National Route Sections 1 0 & 21.
Electrification Projects
Appointment as Electrical Contractors for Electrification Projects in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality on an as-and-when required basis.
Renewable Energy Projects
Kaxu Solar One 1 32kV Substation & OHL and Xina Solar One 132kV Substation & OHL.
